Note 1: In accordance with the Ministry of Environment's waste regulations, single items such as scrap metal, paper, and some recyclable waste do not need to be declared, so no relevant weight statistics are collected. In the future, waste management measures will be refined to gradually achieve internal waste reduction results.
Note 2: Other recyclable waste includes: kitchen waste, waste plastics, waste glass, waste lighting sources, and waste activated carbon.
Note 3: As KUEN LING reduces and reuses cutting lubricants, the main waste generated by the metalworking process is recyclable scrap iron. The output of waste lubricants is very small and will only be removed and processed when it accumulates to a certain amount. Therefore, there is no reported amount for 2022-2023.
Develop reduction measures for cutting lubricants and wooden pallets used to transport goods
(1) Recycling and Reuse of Pallets: To prevent damage to products during transportation, plastic film and wooden pallets are used to protect the goods during shipment. These pallets are recycled and reused through a recycling mechanism. After each recycling, they are evaluated. If they are found to be severely damaged, they will be entrusted to a third party to assist in recycling.
(2) Take measures to reduce the amount of lubricating fluid used in metal cutting: Add a certain proportion of electrolyte to the lubricating oil to extend the life of the lubricating fluid and thus reduce the generation of waste oil. In addition, a simple liquid level gauge is added to the lubricating fluid circulation system of each metal cutting machine. When the lubricating fluid level is too low, the system automatically replenishes it from the oil barrel and sets the height so that no liquid splashes. This reduces waste caused by liquid splashing and avoids slippery ground in the working area, thereby reducing the risk of personnel falling.
